Telephone service is available for a daily charge. You may receive calls directly by providing your family and friends with your room phone’s direct number. Calls are prohibited between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., and telephone bills are due upon discharge.
A portable, bedside telecommunications device is available for free to deaf or hard-of-hearing patients. Dial 0 for the in-house operator or ask your nurse for one.
Calls to Nassau and Suffolk counties and the five boroughs are local calls. Calls within the (516) area code are made by dialing 9 plus the number. Call other areas in the New York and tri-state region by dialing 9-1 plus the number. If you are dialing from inside the hospital, dial only the last four digits.
